Fundamentals of Qurʾānology Submitted to Brill Publishing
The Quranic Sciences Institute is pleased to announce that the first volume of the Qurʾānology series — Fundamentals of Qurʾānology: A Methodological Approach to Meaning, Miracle, and the Epistemology of Guidance in the Qurʾān — has been submitted to Brill Publishing in April 2026. Brill is one of the world’s leading academic publishers in Islamic and Middle Eastern Studies, based in Leiden, Netherlands.
Fundamentals of Qurʾānology presents the epistemological framework that underlies the entire 20-volume series. It introduces the muḥkamāt and mutashābihāt structure of the Qurʾān — arguing that the mutashābihāt were not obscure by accident, but encoded descriptions of empirical reality designed for progressive interpretive retrieval as human scientific knowledge advanced. The volume establishes the interpretive methodology that all subsequent volumes in the series apply to their respective domains.
The English translation is by Sara Rastegar. We await Brill’s response and will share further news as it develops.
