The Signs (Al-Āyāt) — A Documentary Series on the Qurʾān and Science

The Quranic Sciences Institute is pleased to present The Signs (Al-Āyāt) a series of documentaries exploring the phenomena of the universe as described in the verses of the Qurʾān. All films are produced in Persian with English subtitles and are available to watch on our Documentaries page and YouTube channel.

The series takes its name from a verse in Sūrah al-Fuṣṣilāt: “Soon We will show Our signs in the horizons of the universe as well as within themselves so that the truth and authenticity of the Qurʾān may be revealed to them.” The documentary series takes that invitation seriously, examining the Qurʾān’s descriptions as precise accounts of phenomena that science has only recently been able to describe.

The series currently includes eleven documentary subjects: Takwīr, Ṭāriq, The Creation of the Universe, The Matter of the Universe, The Forces of Nature, Relations in the Universe, Symmetries and Unification in the Laws of Physics, Ghiyāmah (The Day of Judgment), Our Unique Planetary System, The Seven Heavens, and The Four Days of Creation. Each documentary examines specific Qurʾānic verses and reveals how they describe complex truths of the physical world with remarkable precision.

The documentary series are complimentary to the Qur’anology book series that represent decades of research into the relationship between Qurʾānic language and modern scientific understanding.
